85 East London, South Africa

 East London has a heavy German influence despite its name. The buildings show its English heritage. We went to a beach cliff and a museum.  The museum held many specimens of fish and birds, but also a mold of a Dodo egg (the real one is in a vault) and the first footprints found from over 100,000 years ago. Other sites include a statue of Steve Biko

84 Durban, South Africa

 Durban is a blend of Zulu, Indian, and post-colonial influences. Styles are Victorian, Art Deco, and modern as many of the older structures have been replaced. Founded by the British in 1849, the city appeals to tourists because of the beautiful beaches, the love of sports, and the beautiful botanical gardens.  Their stadium from the 2010 FIFA World Cup.  Perspective for the enormity of the Nelson Mandela statue. And now the beach
